Thursday, October 8, 2020 Dear Partners, It has been widely acknowledged that communities of color in New York City have been disproportionally affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. As the effects of the virus unfold, community leaders and organizations are assessing the damage, confronting unprecedented challenges, and building capacity to plan and implement recovery efforts. On October 8th at 5 p.m., the New School, Parsons Housing Justice Lab, and the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) will virtually convene community leaders to discuss the impact that COVID-19 has had on New York City neighborhoods and explore what a post-COVID recovery could look like. Join me and fellow panelists from New York City’s community development network as we discuss how communities are responding to today’s challenges and explore ideas for how local organizations can support neighborhoods in recovering from the crisis. PANELISTS The virtual event is free and open to the public. We hope you will join us as, together, we help to shape New York City’s vision for recovery and transformation. Sincerely, Valerie White |
