Linked below is the Import-Export Report for September 2020. 

The key findings are:

  • The Import/Export report for September 2020 shows total imports up 16.0% for the month, but down 5.9% YTD. Non-alcoholic beer imports were up 72.7% for September 2020 and up 26.3% YTD.
  • Comparing packaging, imports from Mexico showed bottles up 25.6% and cans up 16.1% for September 2020, but draft down 33.5% for the same period. The results from the Netherlands show bottles up 48.3% and cans up 49.0%, but draft down 87.4% when comparing September 2020 versus September 2019. The same comparison for Belgium shows bottles down 20.5%, cans up 202.9%, and draft down 88.6% for the month. Year over year comparisons show draft down by 52.2% for Mexico, 55.6% for the Netherlands, and 61.3% for Belgium, all attributable to COVID-19 closures.
  • This report also includes data for imports of Perry, Mead, and NESOI (Not Elsewhere Specified or Included), showing 1,351,917 additional barrels imported into the U.S. YTD 2020.
