4th Grade eNews

December is coming, and we can’t believe how fast this fun year has flown!  The next 3 weeks are jam-packed with learning and fun activities, so  please read emails carefully.  Celebrating the gift of Jesus with your children will be the best!

Academics

  • Bible - This week we will be studying how Jesus was fully God, yet fully man.
  • Memory Verse - John 1:1,14, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God… The Word became flesh and took up residence among us. We observed His glory, the glory as the One and Only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.” 
  • Spelling - Unit 15 - silent consonants  ex:  knob and castle
  • Language - Opinion writing about Christmas; real or fake trees?
  • Math -  We will begin greatest common factors and reducing fractions
  • Social Studies - We will begin the western region
  • Science - We will finish our study of electricity with exploration and experiments.
  • Reading - Continue our study of plot and City of Ember

Important Dates

  • December 1 - School Christmas Chapel
  • December 16 - Class Christmas Parties (12:00)  with early dismissal at 12:45
  • December 19-January 2 - Christmas Break

Reminders

  • Please send a labeled coat for when we are able to go outside. Also, any jackets worn in the classroom are to be navy blue.
  • Metal water bottles are not allowed in the classrooms this year. Please send a plastic bottle.
