Porcelain art currently on display in the library
Lisa Conway, chairperson of the art department and head of ceramics at Clark College, is showing “BLOOM” in the library through April 25. “BLOOM” features high-fired porcelain using pinching and coiling techniques to create biomorphic entities that unwind and stretch toward the light. Conway’s process involves multiple firings and glazes, with custom finishes to build up complex layered surfaces.
Conway has taught throughout the West, and has pieces in several public art collections in the Pacific Northwest.
