Staff volunteers and faculty asked to complete Commencement survey
The Commencement Committee works hard each year to make graduation a rewarding experience for students. If you participated in 2015 Commencement activities by attending the 2015 Graduation Party, volunteering on Commencement day or participating in the ceremony, please complete the appropriate survey below. By taking just a few minutes to complete the short survey you can help improve next year’s Commencement activities.
Commencement day was the official last day of our 25th anniversary celebration. Please retire 25th anniversary stationery, pull 25th anniversary logos off your email signature and other places it may be hiding. Thanks for a great year. Here’s to the next 25!
Website changes support enrollment goals
Today you’ll notice a refreshed homepage on the WSU Vancouver website. Research shows the website is our number one marketing tool. This and future updates will play a critical role in supporting our aggressive enrollment goals.
The homepage changes were made based on user analytics and industry trends. Now it answers the most common questions prospective students ask. Why WSU Vancouver? What degrees do you offer? How much is tuition? Some things haven’t changed.
News, events and featured articles remain. If you have feedback please send it to bbates@wsu.edu.
The Carson College of Business
also launched a new website last week. Using analytics, user behavior and web content strategy, marketing and communications partnered with business to transform its site into a destination for prospective students. Browse the pages and you’ll find focused, concise copy that translates well to mobile devices.
Over the summer, all college/department websites will be transitioned to the updated look and responsive framework. Through a combination of analytics, content strategy and forthcoming Enrollment Task Force recommendations, all new sites will focus on student recruitment.

Sharon Culver, 70, started working on a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Development at Washington State University-Vancouver five years ago. She’s possibly one of the school’s oldest graduates, but the school can’t say for sure because of student privacy laws.
This week, Washington State University Vancouver officials will confer 975 degrees, including 118 master's degrees and 11 doctorates. That is a far cry from the initial class of 19 graduates, when the school was confined to a building on the Clark College campus.
Like many other milestones in their lives, graduating from college will be accomplished together. On Saturday, Hamilton and Shores, who call each other Christi and Bre, respectively, will be among 975 students who graduate in Vancouver from Washington State University.
