Hi everyone,

Thanks for taking the time to read our Regal newsletter. This will be the last monthly newsletter you’ll receive. We’re moving to our seasonal format. Each newsletter will feature our favourite foodie shows, recipes and include seasonal giveaways.

Well, it is officially spring, which usually means we’re over the worst of the weather. But here in NZ you never know. It definitely makes it much easier for our salmon farmers to get out of bed at the crack of dawn each day. That said, they do get to wake up in some of the most beautiful scenery in the world.

So what’s on this spring?

Fathers Day.
Don’t forget to spoil your dad/hubby on the 1 September. Why not make him a delicious lunch with a little smoked salmon and a beer to match. Smoked ales and lagers (yes they do exist) are the best match as they complement the salmon’s roasty wood aromas. Your local craft beer specialist will be able to point you in the right direction. Check out our website for some delicious recipe ideas for the fella in your life.

Daylight Saving 29 September.
Spring forward, fall back. Don’t forget to put your clocks forward one hour on Sunday morning. This is also the best time to change the batteries in your smoke alarm.

Labour Day 28 October
It seems like such a slow run to this long weekend so enjoy the extra time with friends and family. This is always a good weekend to lift the lid on the barbeque and prepare for those balmy spring evenings.

Adidias Auckland Marathon Sunday 3 November.
For those of you planning the annual run over the Auckland Harbour Bridge, make sure you check our website for recipes that are low on calories and high in nutrition to keep your training programme on track. Good luck.

Toast Martinborough Sunday 17 November.
Thousands of ‘Toast’ fans here in NZ and around the world have already planned to attend this ‘must-do’ event. It’s your annual opportunity to sample world-class wines, savour wonderful cuisine and enjoy some great live entertainment in one of the country’s most picturesque viticultural hotspots.

Taste of Auckland 14-17 November.
As we head closer to summer, why not come on down to Victoria Park to watch your favourite chefs show off their culinary skills on the live stage alongside some incredible musicians. ToA 2013 features Whisky Shop Masterclasses, over 120 handpicked artisan food, wine and beer producers, a Small Producers Market and an exceptional wine and cheese experience.

Marlborough Wine Weekend 1-3 November.
Our hometown event, the MWW is a showcase of the region’s very best wine, food and experiences. This event is located across a handful of different sites across the province.

Marlborough Wine Show 9 November.
Wine, wine and more wine! MWS was launched in 2011 as a regional competition. It has now grown to become a celebration and demonstration of the significant impact Marlborough’s diversity has on the world’s wine market. This is a show not to be missed.

Nelmac Garden Marlborough 6-10 November.
A springtime celebration of Marlborough's stunning landscape, it showcases the very best the region has to offer with a series of garden tours, garden themed workshops, and social events.
Regal Salmon is supporting the Framingham Culinary Series with Martin Bosley. This is your chance to sample Martin’s Regal Salmon dishes at the Lunch with Martin Bosley, Cruise with Martin Bosley or Masterclass with Martin Bosley. View gardenmarlborough.co.nz for a full schedule and ticket prices.

Seasonal recipe idea.
To celebrate the arrival of spring we recommend our Regal Artisan salmon Tartlets with Avocado Salsa. You’ll find the full recipe on our website.

That’s all for now. Make the most of the spring weather, and until summer, enjoy!
