Nuclear Citizen's Jury One completed

The Nuclear Fuel Cycle Royal Commission first Citizen's Jury was held over 25/26 June and 9/10 July.

The jury of 50 randomly selected South Australian citizens discussed South Australia’s future role in the nuclear industry over the two weekends.

The Citizen's Jury Report, a video library, photo gallery and other useful information is now available for review at nuclear.yoursay.sa.gov.au

 

Australian METS Sector Competitiveness plan draft completed

The first draft of the plan to enhance the competitive advantage of the Australian mining equipment, technology and services (METS) sector has been completed by METS Ignited.  A consultation process will now begin.

$20 million promised for locally-led Regional Jobs and Investment Package in the Upper Spencer Gulf.

Liberal Member for Grey Rowan Ramsey and Senator for South Australia Simon Birmingham made the announcement that a re-elected Turnbull-Joyce Government would invest $20 million into the Upper Spencer Gulf on 28 June. With re-election now confirmed the package should move forward.

OZ Mineral selects PYBAR Mining Services to construct Carrapateena decline

Construction of the 600m deep, 7500m long Carrapateena decline and  associated ground infrastructure and surface ventilation will begin in August.

OZ Minerals to join forces with Mithril Resources to explore the Coompana Province in west SA

The two Adelaide-based companies have entered a Heads of Agreement to explore seven licenses in South Australia’s last mining frontier.

Hornsdale wind farm joins the grid

Seven of the 32 turbines in Phase 1 of the farm in the Mid North of South Australia were switched on to the grid following an “energisation ceremony” on site on July 7, with the remainder of turbines to come online in coming months.
