Places for People has been selected as the recipient of the 2013 Health Care Advocacy Organization of the Year by The St. Louis American Foundation. The award is given “in recognition of the organization’s hard work and commitment to the St. Louis community.”

Places for People will be among the honorees at the 13th Annual Salute to Excellence in Health Care Luncheon on Friday, April 26, 2013, at the Hilton Frontenac. A reception will begin at 11 a.m., with the main program starting at noon and concluding at approximately 1:30 p.m.

"It affirms that behavioral health (mental health/substance abuse disorder treatments) are essential to overall health and well being for all of us and our communities,” PfP Executive Director Joe Yancey said.  “This award wouldn't be possible without the belief and support of our mission and our work by our Board, staff and supporters.  As I've said many times, we are privileged to be able to provide services to some of the most courageous and resilient folks that I have ever known.”

Tickets for the 13th Annual Salute to Excellence in Health Care Awards Luncheon on Friday, April 26 at the Frontenac Hilton are available for $75 each/$750 table for VIP/Corporate seating and $50 each/$500 table for Individual seating. Join Us at the Rally for Medicaid Expansion on April 16

Missouri Capitol

We need your voice to be heard next Tuesday!

People served by PfP, as well as PfP board members, administrators and staff, will be participating in a rally for Medicaid Expansion in Jefferson City at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 16. The rally, which is being held by Missouri Health Care for All, will be on the Missouri State Capitol lawn.

The Missouri State Capitol is located at 201 W Capitol Ave, Jefferson City, Missouri 65101.  The PfP contingent will be easy to spot, because we will be shouting the loudest for Medicaid expansion. For more details about joining our caravan to Jefferson City, please contact the PfP Development Department at (314) 535-2310.

We support Medicaid expansion because it would allow PfP to provide hope, health and recovery to more people who are among the most vulnerable members of our community. Strengthening Medicaid would provide coverage to an additional 300,000 people in the next three years. Of this amount, an estimated 50,000 need mental health services.

Whether or not you can join us on the lawn Tuesday, please take time to email your state representative and senator today. We recommend using this user-friendly website to send your email.
