August 2017 — Lower Mainland Edition

This summer, take your Modo everywhere!

Getting out of town is easy with Modo's diverse fleet of cars, trucks, vans and SUVs close to transit. With Modo, you're ready for outdoor adventures.

Camping, heading to the lake, or going for a hike? Sometimes you need a vehicle to get outside! With Modo's fleet of 600 vehicles, you can always get the right sized car for your trip. Whether you need lots of cargo room for camping gear or additional passengers, our SUVs, minivans and pick-ups are a great solution to fit everything you need and with lots of locations close to transit and seven cars at ferry terminals, getting out of town is easier!

“With the exception of a few hikes, most aren’t accessible by transit so you usually need a car to get you there. Since we don’t own a car, we use Modo and it’s brilliant.” — Modo Ambassador Alicia Haque shares her favourite hikes around Vancouver with Modo.

A great addition if you need to get more gear or pick up rentals: The new Modo on the rooftop of the MEC on Broadway (Hyundai Tucson #977) has a hitch for bike racks and roof racks, so you can load up your gear hassle-free.

We love seeing our members' outdoor adventures. Use the hashtag #modoeverywhere on social media to share your best pics with the Modo community!

Pro Tip: Modo to the US

We frequently get asked by members if it's possible to take a Modo to the United States. Good news: It is! Our fleet insurance covers you to drive anywhere in Canada and the US.

Our advice before you go: Give yourself a bit of extra time to inspect your Modo—inside and out—so you can say with confidence you know all contents of the vehicle.

"You can book in increments as small as 15 minutes, so if you need a car for 26 hours, you don't end up paying for two full days like you do with a rental." — Emma Gilchrist, Modo Ambassador.

Take a Modo camping and unplug for the weekend. Guest blogger Megan Kennedy explored Manning Park on BC Day long weekend—a great destination to hike amongst wildflowers in the spring and summer.

Modo: Jeep Renegade

Features: Backup camera, AWD

Staff Tip: Book a Modo with roof racks and a hitch for bike racks if you're planning to take your bike camping!

Modo x Vancouver Mural Festival

Modo has partnered with the Vancouver Mural Festival to wrap one of our brand new cargo vans in local art! We are proud supporters of the local arts community and our jury of partners and ambassadors helped us decide on a fitting design celebrating "20 years of supporting the arts," submitted by VMF artist Andrew Tavukciyan

"I love doing vinyl wraps like this, it's always an interesting and rewarding challenge dealing with different templates and forms. This van decal is definitely the largest one I've done, which offered a lot of freedom in regards to scaling and the composition. I was able to treat this like a large painting or mural without having to worry too much about where everything was going, like I've had to do in the past with more restricting forms." - Andrew Tavukciyan on his design.

Thanks to our jury members: Esther Rausenberg (Eastside Culture Crawl), Adrian Crook (Modo Ambassador), Selena McLachlan (Modo), Brent Granby (Modo Member, artist at Parker Street Studios), Tara Flynn (DOXA) and Sam Snobelen (Out on Screen)!

The cargo van will be ready for your bookings in the next week!
