RED CARPET OPENING NIGHT – WIDE OPEN SKY
(G) FAMILY AUSTRALIA
Director: Lisa Nicol
FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 25
7.30pm at THE BARN, ROSNY PARK
Best documentary feature at the 2015 Sydney Film Festival. The Moorambilla Voices program assembles one of Australia’s most talented children’s choirs from the most remote corners of the outback. Out there, footy is king and music education is rare as rain but the children travel far from home to prepare for a big concert in Coonamble. Wide Open Sky follows four young children brave enough to dream big. Moving, funny and compassionate, this film reminds us why no child anywhere should grow up without music in their lives.
This red carpet opening will also feature a selection of Bushtucker by Tasman Quartermasters and a complimentary drink.

Riffing on the importance of love, family and the strength of the sibling bond, this pitch black comedy is both funny and dramatic, light and raw, goofy and brutally honest.

PAPER PLANES

|
(PG) FREE SCREENING
FAMILY AUSTRALIA
Director: Robert Connelly
SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 27
11am to 1.30pm
11-year-old Dylan (Ed Oxenbould) has an odd gift: the ability to craft a paper plane that flies longer and faster than his peers’. When Dylan’s inventive spirit lands him a spot in the regional Paper Plane Championships in Sydney, he must contend with a lack of funds and a disapproving father to reach the World Championships in Japan. The great acting performances (Terry Norris and Deborah Mailman are scene-stealers) , outstanding cinematography and rousing score make this an irresistible crowd-pleaser that can’t be missed... ....kids will rush home to fold up bits of paper and throw them out of the window. Join us after the film for a paper-plane making competition on the Rosny Barn lawn.

WHILE WE’RE YOUNG
USA COMEDY M15+
A middle aged filmmaker Josh (Ben Stiller) and his wife Cornelia (Naomi Watts) are happily married but stuck in a rut. Their world is turned upside-down when a free spirited young couple enter their lives. Soon they are ditching friends their own age, but their appealing free-wheeling attitudes start to pall. This is a wryly funny but acute look at the generation gap. As one of Josh’s friends points out, “a middle aged man in a funky hat just looks silly!”
