Dear Parent/Guardian,In this email you will find details about what to expect on your first visit back to swimming lessons and the safety measures we have put in place. Like many other activities swimming has had to adapt to new Covid-19 regulations.
Please follow these rules and guidelines:
- Please come ‘beach ready’ in swimming costumes, goggles and hats in order to minimise time spent in the changing rooms. (You can bring your own swimming equipment should you wish to).
- Only one parent/guardian to accompany your child/children on your visit.
- Please wait outside the Centre until 5 minutes before your lesson is due to start.
- When entering the Centre use the hand sanitising stations
and maintain social distancing.
- A member of staff will greet you and let you know when to enter the changing rooms.
- Please queue down the right hand side of the changing rooms. Get changed and put on your swimming hat and goggles.
- (Keep your child’s belongings with you whilst your child is swimming).
- When instructed children will need to follow the one way system to their teacher and registration point. (Staff will be on hand to help).
- The pool layout will be different with smaller class sizes. All teachers
will teach from poolside.
- All parents/guardians must stay in Centre for the duration of the lesson. Where social distancing allows, you can wait in the spectator area. (Priority in the spectating area will be given to the parent/guardian of children under 8). Alternatively please wait in the café.
- After the lesson finishes, Parents/Guardians should meet their child/children in the changing room to get towel dry and changed. Please change in the left hand side of the changing room and minimise time spent in the changing rooms.
- Showers will not be available.
- Once you have changed please leave the changing rooms through the exit door.
- You may experience shorter lesson times. This is for your safety, to allow us time to clean our facilities between sessions. Initially there will be a 5 minute registration period, 20 minute swim, and 5 minute cleaning period. Swim Teachers will spend time getting the children used to the changes and putting them at ease, so that they can focus on having fun and learning to swim.
We hope this email helps to answer any questions you may have. Staff will be on hand to answer any questions you may have during your visit. We are all looking forward to returning back to the pool and to teaching your child this essential life skill. See you on poolside. The Aquatics Team
