Free Resource Pack

Leeds Infrastructure Consortium (LIC) members have recently issued a new resource pack.

The pack provides help in key areas including finance, governance, marketing and funding. It is intended to give community and voluntary groups and small charities information they need to operate effectively and efficiently and may also be useful to larger sized organisations.

The pack is primarily aimed at organisations in the Leeds area but the tools and guidance should be of wider benefit. You can find it on the main LIC website.

Financial control and risk assessments

The Charity Commission has teamed up with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) in a project to offer charities a review of their financial controls and systems of risk management for free. This is part of a wider initiative reflecting the Commission’s move to a more facilitative role in dealing with individual charities. You can find more details here.

Of course, locally WYCAS can give you tailored help to assess and improve your financial controls and approach to managing risk.
