MEETING REMINDER - TUESDAY, MARCH 11, 2014

The North Central Florida Tea Party Meeting will be held at 7:00 p.m. on TUESDAY, March 11th instead of the usual Thursday.  (This is a one-time change)
There is a movement to set up Common Law Grand Juries all over the United States. The Common Law Grand Jury differs in that it is comprised of volunteers who have come together to sit as a jury. Common Law Grand Juries consist of 25 people whose oath swears to honor, justice and mercy as dictated by the Magna Carta. Though it can determine the validity of a case presented by the State, through the use of presentment it can also initiate investigations and issue indictments without the dictate of the court and prosecutor. It is a jury based on the principles of Common Law, the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution and the Bill of Rights rather than the law as handed to it by the State.
Our guest speaker on Tuesday will be our State Attorney, Jeff Siegmeister.  He will be speaking on the Common Law Grand Jury Movement.  So many people are frustrated that all levels of government are stepping outside their Constitutional powers.  What can we do about it?  Jeff will explain some of the ramifications and possible pitfalls of the movement and then let us know what procedures we can follow in Florida to accomplish the things we need to.  This is an important issue that we need to be educated on.  He will have a handout for us to take with us.

We will have the new edition of the American Patriot Newspaper, information on some of the bills that will be coming up in the upcoming Florida legislative session, and other pertinent information.  We strive to keep our members updated on local, state and federal issues that will affect us all.  Please come out, bring a friend, and find out what the tea party is all about!

COMMON CORE UPDATE

HELP!  RALLY NEEDED Thursday 3/13 at Governor’s Club in Tallahassee: 

As you know, SB1316 (Evers) and HB25 (Mayfield) are having difficulty getting heard in committee.  The people responsible for that will be at this meeting honoring Jeb Bush and the Foundation for Florida’s Future.  Speaker Will Weatherford and Senate President Don Gaetz told me to my face they oppose the bills to stop Common Core last Monday at the RWF breakfast in Tallahassee. The event starts at 2pm so we should be there about 1:30pm with our signs and voices.  We should stop into their offices at the capitol as well.  You have all worked hard to get this far and we can’t stop now!!!!   Read more here:

VA ACCOUNTABILITY

Suffice it to say, the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is worried. News stories of persistent backlogs, destruction of records, and preventable deaths are flooding the airwaves -- and VA is in full-panic mode.  

Yet nothing has changed. Nobody has been fired.  There is still no accountability inside VA's calcified bureaucracy. 

But with your help, we can change this. The subject of this email is "Will you write a letter for our veterans?" because next week -- on Thursday, March 13 -- legions of CVA staff and volunteers across the country will come together to write hand-written letters to their Senators and Congressmen.  It's our second "National Day of Action" and and we need your help.  Read more here
