Cooking up a Quorn feast…
On Friday 18 November cooks from across Scotland joined us for a day packed full of cookery demonstrations. Hosted at the amazing facilities at the Cookery School in Kilmarnock, we had a fantastic day.
It has to be said that we didn’t do all the cooking! Once we’d demonstrated key dishes that can be served over the lunchtime period, we hung up our whites and handed over to our guests.
Everyone paired up, took their places at their workstations and our task was unleashed! Each team were asked to focus on a particular ‘theme’ for the dishes they were going to create – ranging from Thai New Year to Valentine’s Day. There were some puzzled looks to start with, but everyone soon got cooking.
The flavours and standard of the final dishes was outstanding. Even our experienced team of Home Economists, some of whom have been working with Quorn for 20 years, were making notes for new dishes!
To finish the afternoon off, we donned our whites again to demonstrate some great snacking ideas that can be created with Quorn.
"We had a really good day and were really impressed with all the different recipes that could be made with Quorn and will be trying them out on the children. The day couldn’t have been better. Thank you all for a fabby day!"
Lynn, Lorraine, Brenda & Tracey, Mid Lothian
"We had a great day at the cookery school. Talking from someone who before coming knew nothing about Quorn I learnt so much. I have been very impressed with the range and could not believe I had so many different variations on my plate. I would have argued that chicken, beef and maybe turkey were among them. The taste and texture was fabulous."
Alison Johnson, South Lanarkshire
"We really enjoyed the day. I will be contacting the team to see if they can come and do a demo for our managers in the New Year."
Pearl Hamilton, North Ayrshire
We had a great day and are thrilled that those that joined us did too.
