Notice of Annual General Meeting and Tourism Talks
Dear Members,
This email is to give formal notice of the 2020 NWT Tourism Annual General Meeting.
The Annual General Meeting will be held on Thursday, November 5th at 10:00 a.m. All voting members will be sent a zoom link to participate.
NWT Tourism is proposing changes to our By-laws in response to a review undertaken by GNWT Corporate Registries in December 2019. The review resulted in GNWT identifying specific areas in our by-laws that needed to be updated to align with the NWT Societies Act. The proposed changes were drafted by our legal counsel and have been vetted by GNWT Corporate Registries in advance to ensure all changes we are proposing will satisfy GNWT Corporate Registries, once approved by members. We will be bringing these changes forward as a "replace and repeal" proposal to members. You can find the proposed changes to our by-laws along with other AGM materials on our AGM website here.
In addition to the Annual General Meeting, NWT Tourism is hosting a number of "tourism talks" that we believe will be of interest to you. All sessions will be held via Zoom, and there will be no fees to attend any of the sessions.
Here is the schedule for the week of November 2-6. To see the schedule of "tourism talks" online, click here. Zoom links will be added to the web page as they are created.

The session will be begin with Gloria Loree, Senior Vice-President, Marketing Strategy & Chief Marketing Officer at Destination Canada. She will give a Canadian context for tourism marketing. Gloria will be followed by Joel Walton, Marketing Director at NWT Tourism who will give an update on how NWT Tourism has pivoted our marketing to address travel constraints and how our marketing is working in tandem with Destination Canada's marketing as part of a recovery plan for our industry.
