Public transportation plays a key role in the lives of people everywhere. However, in recent years the transportation industry has become more and more vulnerable to security risks. One of the greatest challenges is to protect train stations and metro platforms, where the rail industry needs to safeguard passengers, employees, goods, infrastructure, and assets against possible threats. Due to the complexity of a train station’s set-up, operators face the difficult task of combining all the various security systems required. To work efficiently and effectively, fire-alarm, intrusion, evacuation and building-automation systems need to interoperate seamlessly. Software solutionsInterfaces such as the Building Integration System (BIS) by Bosch address this specific requirement: BIS is easy to adapt to small, medium or large projects, as it allows the system to expand in line with the
operation of the facility, coupled with a low downtime. Regular updates and upgrades are provided, ensuring that the latest technology is always in use.
