PreK4 eNews

Can you believe that we only have a few days of school remaining??  As we think about this school year, we are so proud of the children and the progress each student has made.  Thank you for allowing us to be part of your child’s early childhood education!

We would like to wish each mother a Happy Mother’s Day!  We pray for you as you nurture and pour into your little ones!

The children are so excited about Bike Day!  You will find a permission slip in your child’s folder.  Please sign and return the form next week.  Also, refer to the important information below to help make this event safe and fun for your child!

Next Week

  • Bible Verse:  Exodus 20:12 “Honor your father and your mother.” (We will recite this verse in chapel on Thursday.  Practice at home too!)
  • Bible Story:  Jonah
  • Reading/Phonemic Awareness:  We will review all letters and sounds.
  • Math:  Number review, review of various math skills – sorting, sequencing, patterns.
  • Unit:  The Ocean

Important Dates

  • May 18:  No school
  • May 21:  Our five day classes will enjoy a movie.  Bring $1 to buy popcorn and sprite.  All money collected will be donated to Arkansas Children’s Hospital.
  • May 22:  Last day of school for PreK students!
  • May 22:  Bike Day for all PreK classes!  Students will wear their gray field trip shirt. (The other students in elementary will dress up for Tacky Tuesday.  PreK children will not participate!)
  • 5 day classes will ride bikes/trikes/scooters from 11:30-12:30.
  • 3 day classes will ride bikes/trikes/scooters from 12:30-1:30.
  • Parents are welcome to join us during this last day fun event!
  • “Bikes” may be tricycles, big wheels, bicycles with training wheels, etc…but it is very important that children can independently ride the riding toy they bring!  (please check to make sure it is working properly…i.e., air in tires, training wheels and bike seats tightened.)
  • Students MUST have a helmet to ride!
  • Please put sunscreen on your child before coming to school.
  • You will drop off the bike and helmet by the Kids Theatre (under the awning by arrival/dismissal area) when you bring your child to school and pick it up in the same place that afternoon.  Look for the sign with the teacher’s name and put bike there.
  • Bring an extra water bottle and put it in the cooler by the sign.
  • Please LABEL bikes, helmets and water bottles with your child’s name.
  • May 23:  PreK Parent/Teacher Conferences

Snacks

  • Monday through Friday – Cereal, goldfish, crackers, or pretzels.  Dried fruit will be offered.
