Helping to enhance the safety of Juno Beach

May 30, 2025 — Volume 8 Number 10

Congratulations and Welcome!

The Juno Beach Police Department proudly welcomed two new officers and celebrated a well-deserved promotion during recent Town Council meetings. Town Clerk Caitlin Copeland-Rodriguez and Chief of Police Brian Smith conducted the official swearing-in ceremony, marking a proud moment for the Officers and the community.

Sergeant Jeff Klein, a respected member of the department, was promoted from within. Originally from Long Island, New York, he began his law enforcement career with the Tallahassee Police Department before joining Juno Beach in 2021. Jeff is a certified instructor in defensive tactics and Taser use and was named Officer of the Year in 2022. Known for his professionalism and leadership, Sergeant Klein now steps into his new supervisory role with the continued trust of his colleagues and the community.

Officers Brian Benitez and Ethan Curreri were officially sworn in and warmly welcomed to the Juno Beach Police Department.

Officer Benitez began his law enforcement journey in 2017 as a Military Police Officer in the United States Air Force. Following his honorable discharge, he served with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department for two years before being selected for the Florida Law Enforcement Exchange Program, which brought him to Juno Beach.

Over the course of his career, he has recovered more than 80 stolen vehicles and hundreds of pounds of illegal drugs. When off duty, Officer Benitez enjoys golf, jiu jitsu, and cheering on his beloved New York Giants.

Officer Curreri joins the Juno Beach Police Department with valuable big-city experience and a strong commitment to public service. Originally from Long Island, New York, he attended Russell Sage College in Albany before beginning his law enforcement career with the New York City Police Department.

In 2024, Officer Curreri was recognized with both the NYPD Meritorious Police Duty Award and the NYPD Excellence in Police Duty Award for his role in apprehending suspects during two separate criminal incidents — an impressive testament to his dedication and skill.

Now, as he and his wife prepare to welcome their second daughter in July, Officer Curreri is equally excited about continuing his law enforcement career in the close-knit community of Juno Beach.

The Juno Beach Police Foundation is pleased to congratulate Sergeant Klein on his promotion and to welcome Officers Benitez and Curreri. Their dedication and integrity are valuable additions to our police department and to the Town of Juno Beach.
