RIDING MOUNTAIN TRIATHLON

With spring upon us the training season now begins in earnest. Triathletes will be planning their 2017 schedule and we sincerely hope Riding Mountain Triathlon is high on your agenda. With a year’s sabbatical behind us Deb and I are excited to see everyone returning to experience the newly paved cycle course.

Registration is now accessible online at Events.com. Early registration has been encouragingly brisk.

Our website has been re-branded RMRaces (www.RMRaces.com). The site now includes our new race RMHalf Marathon/10k, debuting Sunday, September 17th. It is fully mobile friendly, allowing you to easily navigate it using your smart phone or any other mobile device.

RIDING MOUNTAIN HALF MARATHON/10K

This fall Riding Mountain National Park will host the inaugural Riding Mountain Half Marathon/10K race. For a number of years the idea of a Half Marathon being held in Riding Mountain has been discussed. With this year being the 150th anniversary of Canada it was decided that holding this race would be a perfect way to celebrate such a significant milestone.

Registration can be found at Events.com. For information on this race go to RMRaces our redesigned website which is home to both RMTri and RMHalf Marathon. The Half Marathon section will be updated with further information on the routes and maps as they become available. Please visit throughout the spring and summer.

If you have any specific questions at this time, not found on the website, do not hesitate to contact us directly at Crowston@mts.net.

GAND VALLEY DUATHLON

This year’s Grand Valley Duahlon will be held Sunday, June 4. We are expecting another great turnout for our fourth year as Brandon and Westman has seen a significant increase in interest for the sport of Triathlon over the last two years.

This race is a perfect opportunity for Triathletes and multi sport enthusiasts to start their season with. Held on the beautiful Brandon Research Center grounds and scenic Grand Valley Road, this race has become a highly anticipated event for the Westman area. Last year saw a number of Winnipeg athletes make the trip and leave with praise for the race.

Registration can be done in person at A&L Get Active. Out of town people can call (204-727-5817) for further registration information.

More information can be found at A&L Get Active.

TRAINING AT THE LAKE

If you are planning a bike training trip to the lake anytime before or after the May Long Weekend, Clear Lake Country is your guide to all of the accommodations and amenities the lake has to offer.

Do not forget to bring your family along. While you are out enjoying the newly paved highway there is plenty to keep them active and happy.

We wish everyone all the best of luck in the coming race season!
Ellis & Deb

Quote of the Day

“I believe in process. I believe in four seasons. I believe that winter’s tough, but spring’s coming.  I believe that there’s a growing season. And I think that you realize that in life, you grow. You get better.”                                                                                    Steve  Southerland
