COLIN J PETERS AM, MEMORIAL AWARD

A morning tea for the Industry Leaders Fund was hosted by His Excellency the Honorable Hieu Van Le AC, Governor of SA at Government House on Tuesday 25 February 2020 to launch the prestigious Colin Peters AM Memorial Award.

Thanks to a very generous donation by the children of the Fund's inaugural president, the late Colin J Peters AM, the perpetual award will be given to the applicant who best meets several assessment criteria.

The ILF chief executive Geoff Vogt thanked the generosity of Scott and Nicole Peters in honoring their father in a way that memorialises everything that Col's business life was about.

SCHOLARS IN FOCUS
Peter Anthony Piliouras
(ILF 2014)

Introduction

Peter is a senior executive with a unique combination of generalist experience coupled with technical financial and legal skills.

He is passionate about leading people and subscribes to the ‘Servant Leadership’ philosophy: he believes there is no greater privilege than being responsible for others – whether as a parent, or as a leader in an organisation – and that all leaders have a sincere duty to ensure their teams can perform at their very best every day and draw satisfaction from their work.

Currently, Peter is the Chief Commercial Officer at Peregrine Corporation, serving as the righthand man to Yasser Shahin, Executive Chairman. He was seconded to this role from his prior position of Chief Operating Officer to support the growth aspirations of the business.

As Chief Operating Officer, he was principally responsible for the OTR business and key head office departments. In that role, he led a team of 3,000 employees and was responsible for a P&L with over $1.5 billion in revenue. At the time, he was the most senior executive in the organisation outside of the owners/executive directors.

The owners of the business have continued to entrust Peter with significant responsibility because they see him as highly capable, trustworthy and someone that treats their business like it is his very own.

For several years, Peter served as Chairperson of St. George College Inc. which is a ELC to Year 12 private school in the Western Suburbs.

About Peregrine Corporation & OTR

Peregrine Corporation is the 12th largest private organisation in Australia, employing more than 4,000 employees and drawing in well in excess of AUD 2 billion in revenue annually. Its flagship brand OTR, is recognised by the industry internationally as the leading edge in convenience retailing. Today it runs circa 150 service stations and 100 related quick service restaurants such as Subway, Hungry Jack’s, GYG and Oporto.
