The Rosetta mission, which successfully completed its operations last year, has taught us an invaluable amount about comet 67P. One of the things we have found out is how much it changes when it gets close to the sun. Scientists analysing data from Rosetta have discovered crumbling cliffs and fractures. Monica Grady discusses whether it could end up breaking apart in the future.
The grammar schools debate continues, but Sally Power warns that robust research which clearly demonstrates the advantages or disadvantages of selective schooling doesn’t really exist. She answers some of the key questions surrounding the dispute and explains why overall there may be little difference between comprehensives and grammar schools.
Martin McGuinness, who has died at the age of 66, divided opinion for much of his life. Peter John McLoughlin traces his path from IRA soldier to peacemaker and Brendan Ciarán Browne says in later years he showed a keen understanding of the more symbolic elements of reconciliation.
