CPC Celebrates 60 Years of Service with Staff Appreciation Dinner On June 18th, CPC commemorated our 60th anniversary with a special Staff Appreciation Dinner. More than 300 members of our staff, board, and Leadership Council gathered to honor six decades of service across New York’s Chinese American, immigrant, and low-income communities—and to celebrate the dedicated team whose tireless work turns CPC’s mission into reality every day. The article details how electronic skimming scams disproportionately harm low-income families and older adults, many of whom struggle to protect their benefits due to limited tech access or language barriers.

CPC Joins Coalition of Over 100 Groups Urging NY Congressional Delegation to Protect Essential Healthcare Plan CPC, the Fiscal Policy Institute, and over 100 organizations representing labor, policy, social services, and healthcare groups across New York State have united to call for stronger federal protections for the New York Essential Plan. In a joint letter to the state’s congressional delegation, the coalition emphasized the need to safeguard this healthcare program, which provides coverage for low-income New Yorkers who do not qualify for Medicaid. Tribeca Early Childhood Learning Center Awarded 4-Star Rating The CPC Tribeca Early Childhood Learning Center was awarded a 4-Star Rating from QUALITYstarsNY, New York State's quality assessment system for early education programs. The evaluation examines multiple quality indicators including the children’s learning environment, family engagement, management and leadership, and staff qualifications and experience. This recognition assures parents that the center delivers high-quality learning experiences and provides a safe, clean, and nurturing environment that supports children's growth.
Class of 2025 Shines at Early Childhood Graduation Ceremonies CPC teachers, staff, and families, came together to celebrate a major milestone as the Class of 2025 graduated from our early childhood centers. The ceremonies were filled with joy, pride, and a few emotional moments as the young graduates showcased their talent through performances and speeches. Parents cheered as their children took their first steps toward the next chapter of their education. Congratulations to the Class of 2025!

NY Chinatown OAC Kicks Off "Talent is Timeless" Competition On June 26th, CPC NY Chinatown Older Adult Center hosted the first round of "Talent is Timeless" competition. A total of 17 individual and group performed and competed for the top 3 places. After careful judging, top honors were awarded to a dance group, a solo singer, and a Tai Chi group. All three winning acts will represent CPC at the Department for the Aging's Regional Competition in July.
Open Door OAC Celebrates Intergenerational Bonds at Father’s Day Event On June 13th, CPC Open Door Older Adult Center hosted a Father’s Day celebration for over 500 older adults and their families. It was a fun-filled day of magic shows, dance performances, and intergenerational games. A standout moment was when a 100-year old community member teamed up with his son and grandson in a group activity. COMMUNITY & ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENTWe empower New Yorkers to represent and to advocate for themselves and their communities because their leadership is essential for positive—and lasting—social change. We engage with individuals to plan and develop their career paths because professional success is critical for economic independence.
CPC Organizes Staff Workshop on LGBTQIA+ Inclusivity On June 12th, CPC's Community Health Services and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) Committee organized an educational workshop to strengthen staff understanding of LGBTQIA+ identities and experiences. The training provided foundational knowledge about gender identities, sexual orientations, and the differences between sex assigned at birth, gender identity, and expression. Attendees also discussed strategies to reduce stigma and create welcoming and inclusive service spaces for LGBTQIA+ community members.
CPC Partners with Deloitte to Bring Joy to the Community On June 6th, CPC partnered with Deloitte for a Day of Service to make a positive impact across our community. Nearly 60 Deloitte volunteers brought energy and enthusiasm to two CPC sites: At the NY Chinatown Older Adult Center, volunteers led engaging games that sparked joy, conversation, and connection among older adults. Meanwhile, another team helped organize a vibrant summer carnival at CPC One, featuring family-friendly activities and games for more than 200 children and their families.
