Click here Barnard College Update - Tuesday evening, Dec. 20, 2016Dear Claremont resident: We are pleased to report that we expect to begin readying the site to move the crane from Claremont Avenue onto the construction site tomorrow (Wednesday) at approximately 8 a.m. It should take the construction team approximately two hours to move the crane onto the site, and we expect Claremont to reopen no later than noon. As we mentioned in this morning’s email, the construction team has been working with City officials these past few days on an amended operations plan. This plan, which was approved by the City’s Department of Buildings this morning, will allow the crane to be lowered – using a different configuration – but remain on the site during wind events, secured there until the wind has decreased to acceptable levels. This should minimize the crane’s impact on the community as we continue working the next few months. Questions? For general questions and comments, please email me at newbuilding@barnard.edu. If you have an urgent issue that needs to be addressed immediately, please email constructionteam@barnard.edu during regular work hours, or call Barnard Public Safety at 212/854-3362 outside of regular work hours. You can also find our overall construction plan and specific construction-related FAQs on our website: http://barnard.edu/about-barnard/new-teaching-learning-center/construction-faqs. Thank you.
