The annual Staff Awards Ceremony will take place on Wednesday, April 17 at 10:30 AM in the DSC Ledbetter Rooms A,B,C. Tonya Oaks Smith, Director of Communication at UALR Bowen School of Law, will address the staff, many of whom will be recognized for years of service, recent graduation, staff achievement and retirement.   Read more.

The Helping Hands committee partnered with the Chancellor's Leadership Corps to provide food to 150 families in the UALR community.  CLC met their goal of reaching 13,000 and helped Staff Senate fill remaining items needed for Helping Hands baskets.  This year, we were lucky to have students from Bale Elementary help sort and pack food boxes.   Read more.

In February 2013, Staff Senate chartered a Toastmasters International club on the UALR campus. This club, aptly named Class Act Toastmasters, is open to the public but targeted at UALR faculty, staff, and students.  Class Act Toastmasters meets every Friday from 12 - 1 pm. The Spring blood drive held March 12 at the Student Housing Commons collected 40 units of blood, which exceeded the goal of 35 units.  That makes over 150 productive units from our last three drives.  To those of you who “rolled up your sleeves”, you really are heroes!  Read more.
