2nd Grade eNews

We have enjoyed learning about Martin Luther King Jr. and writing our speeches. I hope you will be able to join us at chapel to hear us share them. Please pay close attention to the dates and information below.

Next Week

  • Bible – We will study about Esther and listening to wise advice using chapters one and two of Esther.
  • Verse - Proverbs 19:20 “Listen to counsel and receive instruction so that you may be wise later in life.”
  • Reading – We will be reading Officer Buckle and Gloria with the target skill of Cause and Effect.
  • Phonics – All of our words this week will be compound words: cannot   pancake   maybe   baseball   playground   someone   myself   classroom   sunshine   outside   upon   nothing   into   inside   nobody   everywhere
  • Grammar – Abbreviations
  • Math – We will finish our chapter on 3 digit addition and test on Thursday. We will start our new chapter on multiplication by using repeated addition.
  • Geography - Finding real places near me
  • Writing - We will practice saying our speeches to each other.

Important Dates

  • January 15 - No School- MLK Day
  • January 17 - All pizza card orders must be turned in to our campus by 3:30 or you won’t get them
  • January 18 - Second Grade MLK Chapel in the student building at 8:30
  • January 24 - If we don’t have snow, 100th Day of school: We will dress like 100 year olds!!
  • January 25 - Little Dribblers: We will leave at 8:30 to be at Main Campus to perform for them at 9:15. Students need to wear field trip shirt, jeans, and tennis shoes. Parents are welcome to attend.
  • February 14 - Valentine’s Day Party at 2:30- details to come
