After learning about the life cycle of frogs, we decided that God is just so creative!  He made frogs to lay eggs, tadpoles hatch from these eggs, and these tadpoles grow legs and lungs, their tails shrink, and finally the tadpoles become frogs!

• Bible Story: Jesus Loves the Little Children
• Reading/Phonemic Awareness:  We will review letters and letter/sounds we have learned.
• Math:  Review 0-13
• Unit:  Spring
• Show and Tell: No show and tell this week!

• March 17th – No school!
• March 20-24th – Spring Break
• March 27th - Field Trip to Springdale Campus for Answers in Genesis
• March 30th – Judging for speech meet poems AND Career Day!  Your child may dress up as someone he/she would like to be when they grow up
• April 13th – Easter Chapel and Speech Meet
• April 14th– Good Friday – NO SCHOOL.  Cross Church would like to invite you and your family to attend the Good Friday Service at Cross Church Springdale beginning at 7:00pm.

• Next week, we will review the letters and letter/sounds we have learned. Look for opportunities to reinforce these important pre-reading skills at home!  Ask your child what sound he/she hears at the beginning of family members’ names, or what sound is heard at the end of Sonic or Wal Mart, or possibly what letters/sounds make the small words “up” and “pig”.  All the children are making progress and we are proud of their hard work!
• Continue to practice those Easter poems at home!  On Thursday, March 30, each child will say the poem.  Teachers will select 3 children to recite the poem in front of a small panel of judges.  This group of judges will choose class representatives. We completely understand this can be a little intimidating for some children however; this is a wonderful opportunity for students to experience public speaking.  We strongly encourage you to work with your child at home on the poem.  We have found when they know the poem well, they are much more confident in reciting it in front of a group.
