Before he was born, William's mum and dad knew that he had hyperplastic left heart syndrome, meaning the left side of his heart wasn't developing properly.

His dad, Will said, “When William was born I cried my eyes out. He was beautiful. The next day we dressed him in his little Superman outfit and took him to Bluebell Wood. We’d told Bluebell Wood months before that we wanted to take William to the beach so they arranged one just for him by filling a big trough with sand and water.

“On 14 September 2015, after 13 days at Bluebell Wood, our little man took his last breath in our arms while we told him how much we love him and always will. We can never thank Bluebell Wood enough for everything they did and continue to do.”

Are you ready to get back in the saddle and take on our Pedal 2 Poolsbrook challenge?

This September, we'll be pedalling 35km from Rother Valley Country Park to picturesque Poolsbrook Country Park (and back!) and you can join us for the ride.

Tickets are £15 for adults and £6 for under 16s. Your fantastic efforts will be rewarded with a free BBQ, a special Pedal 2 Poolsbrook medal, and for the younger riders, a certificate to remember the day.
