Have you planned your activity for Queensland Mental Health Week? 

You can create an event, no matter how big or small, and showcase it to everybody. Let people know that you're doing your part. 

Your options for registration:

  • Public events: your event is published and promoted on the website as being open to the whole community.
  • Private events: your event name and details will be published, but the location omitted. Your event will also be listed as private. 

Get involved and promote positive mental health and wellbeing in your community.

 Recovered Futures Art Exhibition 2019

Hosted by Richmond Fellowship Queensland, this FREE Queensland Mental Health Week event will be held from 5-11 October in the Toowong Room, Brisbane City Hall.

With 115 artists exhibiting and nearly 200 artworks on show, the exhibition aims to raise awareness of mental health and challenge the misconceptions commonly associated with mental illness Everyone is invited to take time to visit the Exhibition!

This professionally curated exhibition promises to delight, surprise and move you. There is something for everyone at the 2019 Recovered Futures Art Exhibition!

World Record Attemp in Townsville

 

The Townsville community will come together to show their resilience after the recent flood event and shine a light on mental health.

To make mental health visible, Townsville will attempt to set a new Guinness World Record™ for the 'Most people wearing high-visibility vests at a single venue’ on 10 October at Bunnings Fairfield Waters. 

Register now to grab your free attempt pack (includes a hi-vis vest) and join in on the sausage sizzle, free activities, music, giveaways and VIP appearances.

It’s not too late get involved. See the QMHW website for brilliant ideas. Other registered events include:

  • Mindfulness @ Melton Park (Biloela)  - a free, family-friendly day with yoga, games and more. Join Central Queensland Rural Health in promoting mental health in the community. 
  • Rotary Walk for Mental Health @ Sunshine Coast - a walk from Mooloolaba Surf Living Saving Club to Maroochydore Surf Life Saving Club and back, to raise awareness of mental health issues in Australia. 
  • Pause to Refresh Meditation Session #2 @ Mt Isa - 2 free meditation sessions followed by morning tea, join PCYC and Thrive Rural in discussing the benefits of meditation on mental health. 
  • Longreach Health Expo - organised by the Longreach Consumer Advisory Network, the expo includes showcases and discussions by health service providers across the Central West.
  • Good Vibrations 2019 @ Emerald - a variety of well-being activities for young and old, guest speakers, morning and afternoon tea & lunch, as well as community information and stalls.
  • Therapeutic Art Workshop: Improving Mental Health Through Creativity @ Toowoomba -  participants will have the opportunity to create their own characters out of craft materials
  • Mental Health Expo @ Mitchelton - join the Picabeen Community Centre for activities like yoga, art, Tai Chi and more to nourish your mind, spirit, sense of people, place and planet.
  • Take Time Out @ Rockhampton - free family event with the Central Queensland HHS entailing music, creativity food and fun!
  • Mindfulness Art Workshop @ Mackay - 3 hour workshop organised by The Neighbourhood Hub with artists Marissa Moore. Participants will paint take-home mandala dot designs with glow in the dark paint in support of mental health.
