The summer is upon us and here at IPI we’re planning our holidays. We all enjoy the work we do but it’s good to get away, spend time with family and friends and clear our heads, ready to get back to work with renewed energy and enthusiasm. We hope you enjoy a relaxing and sunny summer break.

So, what can you expect from this edition of the newsletter? We begin with a short catch up of Chemspec, followed by an informative article on the principles of the Micro Matic closed loop transfer systems. We also showcase the ProBlend from Micro Matic and introduce Martin Willis, our International Sales Manager. We hope you enjoy.

Chemspec 2017

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Chemspec exhibition in Munich. The dual presentation on REACHReady controlled environments with Vinyl Kft was well attended. It gave us a great platform to showcase how our closed loop transfer systems can make the handling of even the most dangerous chemicals like Methyl Iodide safe.

Micro Matic Closed Loop Transfer

We use this terminology a lot but, what is closed loop transfer and why is it necessary? Closed loop transfer is the transfer of liquid product from one container to another within a closed system, so neither product nor any vapours are spilled or escape in to the environment. The principle is shown in the image below.

ProBlend^® Closed Mixing System from Micro Matic

Together with the Drum Valve, the ProBlend^® is a closed mixing system using timed pulses of pressurised air that quickly and completely mix the contents of a container such as a drum or IBC. It uses the power of the bubble to move the contents of the container, remove sediment and evenly distribute active ingredients, as shown in the video below.

Martin Willis

Martin graduated from Birmingham University and has enjoyed a number of International Sales and Marketing roles in a range of business sectors, from non-ferrous metal production and adhesives and chemicals, through to packaging and construction materials.
