LET INSPIRATION LEAD YOU ACROSS NSW

As Vivid Sydney 2024 charges into its final spectacular week and the King’s Birthday long weekend stretches out before us, now’s the time to make new memories with adventures big and small across New South Wales. And as you’ll see in this week’s issue, this diverse state offers stellar opportunities to do just that, on any break you take between now and October’s Labour Day long weekend.

Between festivities, whet your appetite for adventure with an impressive selection of sojourns from the beach to the bush. Follow this week’s feature, 5 Bucket-list NSW Road Trips, to refresh your senses on five standout routes to the South Coast, Mighty Murray River, the Snowy Mountains, Newcastle, and the vast outback skies of Lighting Ridge.

Or swap out city lights for a star-filled night sky on a family-friendly farm stay in the Hawkesbury, the Shoalhaven region and beyond.

And while Vivid Sydney’s lights will flicker off on 15 June, the world-class creativity continues in the heart of Sydney with the Art Gallery of New South Wales spotlighting the masterpieces of Art Nouveau visionary Alphonse Mucha until 22 September. Then it’s the turn of acclaimed conceptual photographer Hiroshi Sugimoto to dazzle with his mastery of light at the Museum of Contemporary Art for the exciting exhibition Hiroshi Sugimoto: Time Machine from 2 August to 27 October.

Further afield, Broken Hill’s Mundi Mundi Bash is just one of many reasons to plan an outback getaway this winter, with live performances by Aussie greats like Daryl Braithwaite, James Reyne and Diesel just the start. Enjoy!
