In this issue: Logo love and Fat Cows

Meet with us.

July 2012

Get back to basics. Show your logo some love.

Have you been so obsessed with your website lately, that you have forgotten about the lost leader of your marketing arsenal—your very own company logo?

Logos are an effective way to update your brand, and can often be the easiest way to delve into a complete rebrand of your company. Sure, it's only one piece of your brand, but it's a piece that sets the tone for your entire company.

The best way to determine if you need a new logo is to look at your exisiting logo, and then ask yourself the following questions:

• Is there a definite difference in who we are now, vs. who we were when this logo was originally created?

• How would customers imagine us to be if they saw this logo for the first time?

• Does the personality of our company show through?

• Do the colours and fonts look outdated?

• Do you have a tagline associated with your logo?

• Would you be proud to display your logo on company hats, tshirts or even your own car?

• Is your logo easy to see, even at small sizes?

• Is your logo easily identifiable as YOU. Or could it belong to pretty much any company?

• Is your logo "digital" friendly? Could it easily and effectively be used on your website, or modified as a social media icon or badge?

If you think you need to update your logo, you aren't alone. Companies such as Twitter, DC Comics, Volkswagon and Pepsi have already done it, knowing that refreshing their logo will make their brand stronger. If you have any doubts about your current logo, perhaps it's time to get on the "brand" wagon and refresh your look. Trust us, your customers will thank you.

How much will a new logo cost me?

Probably not as much as you think. We've put together a price sheet to show you what we charge, as well as some other great examples of our work, click here to see.

New Langley restaurant

There's a new restaurant in town, and they have an amazing menu! We just completed branding for The Fat Cow and Oyster Bar, which included a new logo, a responsive website and business cards. Their menu, wine list and oyster selection looks fantastic, we can't wait to try them out. If you are looking for a real treat in Langley, go see them. And tell them we sent you! Check out their website (and menu) here.

Crazy for Wontons

One of our fave clients, Fine Choice Foods, is always coming up with a new product we love, but our current office favorite is their Crispy Pork Wontons. Some people here, we won't mention names (Caitlin), have been known to eat these for their lunch. You can find their products in the deli section of Costco, and admire the packaging design while you shop. Click here to see more of the packaging design for Fine Choice.

Workplace Stress

When it was our own Hippy Happy Haley girl's turn to write a blog, it was no surprise she chose a relaxin, feeling groovy kind of topic. She even enlisted our web designer Steph to be her model, however, I think everyone probably volunteered in order to get a free temple massage! So if you'd like to find out how to relieve some of your workplace stress, without taking oodles of Advil, read more about some great techniques here.
