Scary Sweet

Scary Sweets Expert

Last week our intrepid crew brought you the best Halloween costumes in the East Village; this week, we focused on sweet treats with a distinctly neighborhood vibe. Check out what the East Village is offering just in time for your October 31st celebrations.

Sprinkle-icious

These scrumptious shortbread cookies have a festive sprinkling of orange and black, making them Halloween worthy ($16.95/lb.). Order a few and enjoy them with a latte in the charming seating area of this venerable East Village institution; the place opened in 1904 and is still going strong.

Boo-tiful Faces

Made at another East Village landmark (bakery is over 117 years old!), these plus-size sugar cookies are decorated as ghosts, jack-o-lanterns, and, our personal fave, the face of Frankenstein's monster ($2.50). Hand them out at the office and watch the smiles roll in.
