Boise's Hospitality Industry: Here to Help

Leave it to Boise’s hospitality industry to dig in and find new ways to help. From ingenious tactics to making good use of the beds they have available, Boise has ideas and heart to spare. When the United Way put out a call for help for students who were made homeless by circumstance, the Hampton Inn Downtown gathered soap and shampoo for them to use. The Grove Hotel put together care packages for those in need and the Cottonwood Suites donated all of its breakfast food to the local food bank, sent unneeded toilet paper to area shelters, and sent any and all personal protective equipment to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center. Over at The Riverside Hotel, the musicians who might ordinarily be playing at the lounge are now streaming live concerts on the hotel’s Facebook page twice a week; donations are accepted and go straight to the musicians, according to Riverside General Manager Kathy Pidgeon. At the Inn at 500 Capital and Hyatt Place Downtown, management is building care packages, including food and financial assistance, for team members who have been laid off.
