Keeping you in touch No images? Click here Dear Friend This week, another massive storm with another unassuming name - this time Dennis - has caused devastation for many up and down the country. Areas close to our old headquarters have been completely flooded and people within the charity have been affected. Even though experts can now tell us these storms are coming, we never know the extent of the impact until they happen. There's a reason why storms are often used as imagery for the harder times of life. Sometimes we anticipate them, but at other times they hit us without warning - and our lives can be altered dramatically. In our work, we seek to strengthen families in the good times, but also to offer support when the storms come. We hope you find this edition of our family newsletter helpful. The Care for the Family Team Encouraging good marital habits Quality time is important for any relationship. But if that time is spent being distracted by our phones or if we just don't have energy left to invest, that time may not be as effective as it could be. In this new article, we look at how time, focus and energy are important marital habits to keep. What's been going on? We recently met together at our head office in South Wales with all of our colleagues from across the UK and Isle of Man, as we do every February. It was a great time for remembering we exist to strengthen families when it’s all plain sailing, but also to be a lifeline should the storms come. The Wisdom House One of the greatest assets we have to weather the storms of life, is wisdom, and this year we're touring The Wisdom House to even more locations. Rob talks about having the courage to pursue our dreams, shares the secret to genuine friendships and gives ideas on how to discover and play to your personal strengths. We would love to see you, but if we're not coming near you, you can download the course for free. Real life story We understand that losing a child, at any age, is the most heartbreaking and devastating thing a parent can face, but we believe there is hope - that in life, we can find a 'new normal'. Through our work supporting bereaved parents we have found that stories from others who have faced similar situations can be a real encouragement. In this story, Karen shares how she found new purpose for her life after the loss of her daughter Evie, with her memories of their time together encouraging her to keep going.
