Andy Clapp has joined Helsell Fetterman as an associate in the firm’s Business, Finance and Real Estate Practice Groups. He advises clients seeking to buy or sell privately-held companies through stock or asset purchases. He is adept at guiding clients through the various stages of a transaction, from initial communications to post-closing obligations, and he also assists clients interested in forming new businesses or reorganizing existing entities.

A native of Seattle, Andy graduated from Pennsylvania State University’s Dickinson School of Law in 2009 where he was a Senior Editor for the Penn State Law Review. Following graduation, he counseled businesses on all aspects of corporate law at the Pennsylvania firm of McNess Wallace & Nurick LLC for over three years before returning to Washington.

Shawn Butler has joined Helsell Fetterman as an associate attorney who focuses his practice on Health Care Law, Commercial Disputes and Personal Injury.

Prior to law school, Shawn served in the U.S. Army as a military intelligence officer and Army Ranger deployed to Afghanistan and Iraq. He left active duty in 2008 and returned to his home state to attend law school at the University of Washington School of Law. While in law school, he completed internships with the Federal Trade Commission and Social Security Administration. Shawn earned his J.D. in the spring of 2012 and his LL.M. in Health Law in the fall of 2012.
