By the end of 2018, every Australian will have a My Health Record unless they choose not to have one. My Health Record gives individuals access to information regarding their medical conditions and treatments. Patients have the option to share this information with their preferred health care provider or, if necessary in the case of accidents or emergencies, hospital staff, doctors and specialists may also be able to see patient's My Health Records. Through the My Health Record system you will access timely information about your patients such as shared health summaries, discharge summaries, prescription and dispense records, pathology reports and diagnostic imaging reports.
