Your Body Blueprint, AFAO’s new campaign for people with HIV,  provides information and tips for reducing the risks of getting other conditions such as cardiovascular, liver, kidney and bone problems.

AFAO has produced several briefing papers which summarise key points from AFAO’s discussion paper, Turning Political Will into Action: Implementing the 2011 UN Political Declaration in Australia.

Topics include PrEP, the migration health requirement, HIV testing and treatment, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community input to the HIV response.

Chris recently joined the International team at our Bangkok office. He visited the Sydney office in April and we thought AFAO's friends and partners might like to know a bit more about him, so we asked him a few questions about how he came to be working for AFAO and what the International team is up to this year.

We have added some of the presentations from AFAO members’ workshops in early May to the AFAO Slideshare channel, including those for the Program evaluation: research and service improvement session, and Brent Allan’s slides on preparations for AIDS 2014. Check them out

AFAO has made several submissions over the past few months:

• endorsement of the LGBTI Health Alliance Submission on the Sex Discrimination Amendment Bill,
• a joint submission with four other agencies on the Draft Report of the Pharmaceutical Patents Review, and
• a submission on the draft Australian Curriculum on Health and Physical Education to year 10, regarding sex and sexuality education content.

AFAO Executive Director Rob Lake also signed an open letter to the Federal Government, calling for an increase in income support allowance payments in the May 2013 Budget.
