CHAMPIONSHIP PROPERTY OWNERS ASSOCIATION April 1, 2022 Vol. 2 Number 3.
Have you visited our Eagleton website recently? ANNUAL BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING![]() The 2022 Annual Meeting of Championship (Eagleton) homeowners was scheduled to be held on March 16, 2022. Unfortunately the attendance, either by proxy or actual attendance, did not meet the minimum 30% of the homeowners required by the POA documents - and as a result a quorum was met. As a result, no meeting was held and no election of individuals to the Board of Directors was held. The current Board of Directors therefore will carry forward for another year. A full listing of your Board of Directors can be found by clicking here WHY WE MET AT THE PALM BEACH GARDENS PUBLIC LIBRARY?A number of homeowners have asked why we held our 2022 Annual POA Meeting at the Palm Beach County Library in Palm Beach Gardens. The Championship POA documents state that in order to have an Annual Meeting quorum, 30% of the homeowners must either attend or send in a proxy. With 663 homes, that means 199 homeowners must be either present, or submit a proxy. The Board knew that regardless of how many proxies were received, we’d still need a big meeting room in order to accommodate all possible attendees. The only (free and close) meeting space available, that could hold a large number of attendees, was the public library. The PGA-POA Office was still limiting attendance to 10 people. Regular monthly meetings of the Championship POA will continue to be held in the offices of our Property Manager, United Community Management at 300 Avenue of the Champions, Suite 120. GATEHOUSE RENOVATIONS![]() The renovations to the Eagleton gatehouse on Ryder Cup Boulevard are now 90% completed! After a long delay waiting for the new hurricane-proof doors and windows to be delivered, (supply-chain issues) they have finally arrived! We expect the contractor to finish the installation in the next week or so, and then our guards (and our expensive computer technology) will be safe - just in time for the start of hurricane season which begins officially on June 1st. SIDEWALK REPAIRS![]() Thanks to tree roots and other issues, a number of sidewalk slabs on both General Drive and Championship Drive have either raised or cracked. This leads to unsafe walkways that may in turn lead to serious trips and falls. And that can then lead to injuries and insurance claims. The Board has entered into a contract to grind or replace sidewalk slabs on both of these roadways. As part of that, and to be compliant with ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) requirements, the contractor will also be adding guard rails where storm drains are currently located on Championship Drive. The work will begin in mid April and should be completed by the end of the month (weather permitting). Please be vigilant and careful both before the work begins, and also while they are making the actual repairs. Avoid construction areas, please do NOT walk in the roadway, and if you are walking after dark, please carry a flashlight. AGAIN - WE NEED YOUR HELP!![]() In order to keep vehicles from backing up from our gatehouse onto Ryder Cup Boulevard, our gate officers must process visitors, vendors and contractors through the gate as swiftly as possible. When residents have put those guests on their Guest List or called them into the Automated System they can be processed into the community much more quickly. But when a guest is not on either of these systems, the gate officer must make a phone call to the homeowner to get their guest access approval. You can imagine how much time this adds to the access verification process. Unfortunately, numerous calls must be made each day. SO PLEASE - as soon as you know a guest (visitor, vendor or contractor) is coming, put them on your guest list at gateaccess.net or call them into the Automated Gate Access System at (561) 694-2783. You will be helping your friends, your neighbors, our gate officers ... and yourself. But very importantly, you'll be helping to keep traffic flowing safely on Ryder Cup Boulevard. WE REALLY NEED YOUR HELP to keep PGA National safe! APRIL BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING![]() The Championship Board of Directors April Meeting will be held on Wednesday, April 20th at 2:00 PM. The meeting will be held at the offices of United Community Management, 300 Avenue of the Champions, Suite 120. |
