Banks Peninsula community update - 25 June 2020

Christchurch City Council

Greetings from your Community Board

Message from the Chair

Kia ora everyone,
I urge you to take a look at what Council is proposing as part of the revised Draft Annual Plan 2020–21 and if you haven't done so already, have your say on the proposed changes.  Our Community Board has put together a submission to the Council on what we think is important for our community and we encourage you to share your views too. We're strongly supportive of a Destination Management Plan for Banks Peninsula, as an essential tool in the delivery of a successful and sustainable visitor economy for this popular tourism destination that we call home. Our Board will advocate for funding in the Annual Plan to scope a Destination Management Plan, so we are ready to request Long Term Plan funding.
Keep being kind and look after one another. Kia kaha.

Chair of the Community Board

Board Chair, Tori Peden

Cyclists urged to take care in winter weather

There's a few things you can do to make sure you and your bike are prepared for riding this winter season. Visibility is especially important during these short daylight hours  so wear bright coloured high visibility clothing. Look after your bike, ride slower in wet conditions, stay warm and enjoy your ride!
