NEW TECHNOLOGY- Don’t waste time..automate repetitive engineering calculations
Tedds Engineering Calculation software is a standard productivity tool for day-to-day repetitive calculations, replacing hand written calculations. Combining the capabilites of MS Excel and MathCAD working within the MS Word environment, it allows you to develop your own easily formatted professional engineering calculations. It also includes a comprehensive and ever-expanding in-built library of civil and structural engineering code calculations for a variety of materials and structural forms.
Tedds 2015 is an all-inclusive license with an engineering library encompassing regional versions for Australia/NZ, Asia, Canada, UK/Europe and USA. It can also be used as a stand alone or network seat (previously libraries and a network charge were additional). One of the immediate benefits is the use of ACI 318 for seismic anchor design as per recommendations in NZS 3101.
Matrix has a long history servicing the NZ market for Tedds and many years of engineering analysis and general technical IT experience under our belts allowing us to continue providing expert after sales support and services.

NEW TECHNOLOGY - Systematically improve your product quality
The new release of the Aras Quality Management System provides updates and enhancements to the Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (DFMEA/PFMEA/SFMEA), process flow diagrams (PFD) and inspection & test control plans in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) for product risk management and compliance. The application is particularly relevant for suppliers that need to demonstrate compliance with OEM customer quality mandates.
Aras Quality Management can help your business:
-
Achieve compliance with regulatory and quality standards including TS/16949, AS9100, and FDA QSR
-
Drive cross-functional collaboration by integrating quality documents with product definitions and process plans
-
Expose quality issues and defects before product release
The Aras approach is unique because everything is linked together within PLM. That means that the Critical Characteristics used in FMEAs are defined on the Part, and that DFMEAs are inherently connected to Parts. It means that FMEAs have closed-loop workflows to mitigate risks before they occur. And it means that everything is under revision control.
If you're an Aras subscriber and your company has to do quality planning (and who doesn't?), then you're going to want to use these capabilities. They're included in your subscription, so there's nothing more to buy.

TRAIN/UPSKILL - More Computational Fluid Dynamics courses scheduled
Matrix are running two Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) courses in 2016, both in Auckland.
CFD is a numerical method of solving and analysing fluid flow problems. Modern CFD software allows engineers to get results relatively easily for a wide range of problems. However, without a sound understanding of CFD and fluid flows in general, the engineer cannot identify possible errors or weaknesses in the analysis.
This course is designed to provide the required knowledge to allow users to use CFD intelligently and analyse results critically. It is a must for all engineers wishing to use CFD in practical applications and is independent of the package you may currently be using.
