A cosy Cornish Christmas

It's hard to believe that we are rapidly moving towards winter - it might have been a bit blowy, but it has been wonderfully mild down here and the leaves are putting on a beautiful autumnal display.

Now the clocks have gone back though, it's time to start thinking ahead to the festive season - and there's lots to look forward to in Cornwall in the coming weeks, as we gear up for a cosy Cornish Christmas...read on for our special offer and competitions!

Don't forget, if you're worrying about whose house to go to this Christmas or whether you'll all fit in, Bosinver could be the perfect solution. Not only is there room for everyone (no arguing about who sleeps on the floor or has to drive back), but the whole family can get involved with meal preparation and cooking – which means more time for fun and games!

We even furnish our cottages with a tree and decorations - so you don't even have to worry about that! And our dog-friendly cottages mean you really can bring all the family! If you fancy a bit of Bosinver magic and sparkle this Christmas, check out our availability here

1 night free special offer extended!

Good news! Our current 1 night free special offer on short breaks has been going down so well that we have decided to extend it into mid December.

It's a great way to get away for a well earned break or introduce friends or family to Bosinver - a long weekend in a gorgeous Cornish cottage with indoor swimming pool and sauna to hand might be just what is needed to banish the winter blues! See our special offers page for details and terms.

A feast of winter festivals

There really is something magical in the air at the festivals held in Cornwall at this time of year - they are wonderful celebrations and are always such a spectacle...

Truro City of Lights on Wednesday 20th November is hugely anticipated and enjoyed by locals and visitors alike - the evening parade lights up the Cathedral city in spectacular fashion with lanterns, samba bands and magnificent illuminated willow sculptures.

Other Christmas Lights events include the amazing Angarrack Christmas Lights from 1st December - one of the finest illuminated displays in Cornwall and the legendary Mousehole Christmas Lights from 14th December - which draws many thousands of visitors each year. Truly a stunning sight, with floating displays of lights in the harbour and surrounding streets filled with the aroma of mulled wine and festive food.

Another unforgettable experience is Penzance's somewhat spooky Montol Festival Penzance from 16th-21st December celebrating the midwinter solstice and Cornish traditions of the past, culminating in the main event Montol Eve on December 21st when beacons are lit throughout the town and masked dancers make their way through the streets by torchlight.

For more information and a wonderful film giving a flavour of these special Cornish winter festivals see the Visit Cornwall video "Into the Light"

Making the most of your stay with Bosinver's blog recommendations

We love it when our guests tell us that they've had a perfect stay (some even sing it to us to the tune of Perfect Day!) and that our recommendations for places to visit really helped to make their holiday special.

The whole team at Bosinver know Cornwall really well and we are always happy to share our local knowledge - it's why we write our blog, so that you can spend less precious time researching and more time relaxing!
