Dr. Tomas Bok and Family Dedicates New Garden Spaces in the Shadow of Great-Grandfather’s Singing Tower
What: Grand Opening Celebration and Dedication Ceremony
Who: Bok Tower Gardens
Why: The largest expansion in 87 years of history, Bok Tower Gardens celebrates the opening of nearly 8-acres of new garden spaces with Hammock Hollow Children’s Garden, the Wild Garden, Outdoor Kitchen, Edible Garden and Alexander Discovery Center.
Family-friendly activities and guided tours of the Wild Garden will be available. Guest chefs including Food Network’s Kids BBQ Championship winner Tyler Zager will be performing cooking demonstrations in the Outdoor Kitchen.
Who Should Attend: Admission for the day is complimentary. Media is invited to attend. Interview and photo opportunities will be available.
When: Saturday, September 10 from 8am-5pm.
Dedication Ceremony begins at 10am and will include remarks from Gardens’ president David Price, Board of Directors Chair Cindy Alexander, Board of Directors Vice-Chair Dr. Tomas Bok, and Dr. Nick Place, Dean and Director of University of Florida/IFAS Extension.
Ceremony will conclude with the release of 2,500 native pollinators.
