We welcomed record numbers of alumni and other members of the Chapman Family back to campus for a weekend of Panther Pride at The Chapman Family Homecoming Celebration in October. There are many more opportunities in the coming months for alumni to get involved with Chapman and be an active part of our community. Read on to learn more.

Your New Alumni Association President

Please join us in welcoming Jimmy Blalock (J.D. ’09) as your new president of the Chapman University Alumni Association. Jimmy and the Alumni Association Board of Directors are charged with developing services and programs for alumni, creating opportunities for career development and outreach and engaging faculty, staff, and students in the alumni community.

Class Notes and Alumni News

  • In September, Karen (Phillips) Funk '67, Martha (Rairden) Lannan '68 and Karin (Olson) Mather '68 reunited at the National Assistance League Conference in Chicago.
  • Marc Messenger '84's latest film for Blizzard Entertainment, the cinematic intro for the video game Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls, premiered at Gamescom in Cologne, Germany in August.
  • Melissa Browder '06 opened a bakery in Brea called iKneadLove, featuring Kean Coffee. She specializes in breads, pastries, cakes and morning goodies.

Brianna (Clark) Vandre ’11 married Mark Vandre in August at the historic Ranch House Chapel on Camp Pendleton, where Mark serves as a U.S. Marine.

Kim (Knighten) Russell ’79, Ryan Corry ’08 and Melanie Jupp ’11 work together at The Smith Center for the Performing Arts in Las Vegas, along with Terry Jones, who was a development officer at Chapman from 2007 to 2009.

Individual tickets are regularly $185, but Chapman alumni are eligible for a discounted rate of just $50 per ticket. The special rate is good for one ticket per alumna/alumnus, as a career development and networking opportunity.
