The SGS is excited to announce that graduate students in the MA, MFA, MMus, MSc, and PhD programs will now register online.

The dates for registration during the priority window for continuing students will be November 7 at 8:30 am to November 12 at midnight

Students in these programs will now be able to register via the Bridge.

MFA New Media thesis exhibition

You are invited to attend the thesis exhibition by MFA New Media candidate, Blake Evernden.

A screening the work print of his feature film, Prairie Dog, is at the Movie Mill Monday, November 3 at 7 pm.

Physical elements of his film will also be on display in the lobby. More

Scheduling of a PhD Thesis Defence

The Doctoral Policies and Procedures have been updated to reflect the change to the timeline for requesting the thesis oral defence.

The Request for Thesis Examination form must now be submitted to the School of Graduate Studies at least 6 weeks prior to the proposed scheduled defence.

Kelley committed to helping students thrive

The U of L looked a lot different when Dr. Helen Kelley (MSc (Mgt) ’94, Mgt ’93) was on campus as a student, but even though its appearance has changed, Kelley says the spirit of support at the University is something that’s always been here.

“It was absolutely amazing,” says Helen of her time as an undergraduate student. “I was able to interact a lot with faculty members and they encouraged me to take advantage of every educational opportunity. My initial experience at the U of L planted the seeds for going on to graduate school.”

Effective Classroom Management

This workshop provides participants with the skills necessary to develop and implement an effective classroom management plan. Topics include identifying and communicating class expectations and procedures, establishing a positive learning environment, and planning for student engagement. Opportunity will be provided for participants to create their own classroom management plans.
