Drivers in Demand
The American Trucking Associations (ATA) reports that experienced truck drivers with good records are on of the hotter commodities in today’s job market. Factors driving demand include veteran drivers retiring and new safety regulations that are clamping down on the trucking industry.
ATA also reports the driver turnover for large truckload fleets increased by 2 percentage points, to 90 percent in the first quarter. Turnover for fleets with less than $30 million in revenue jumped 16 percentage points, to 71 percent.
