Prayer - Petition & Praise

Memphis Junior Academy: On August 10, the principal of Memphis Jr. Academy was found dead and a student was taken into custody. Please pray for the students and family members that were affected by this tragic event.
U.S. East Coast: The aftermath of the earthquake and Hurricane Irene that hit the eastern coast of the United States is widespread. Those who were affected are in need of resources and prayer. To support the relief effort, contact ACS Disaster Response.
Personnel Changes

Scott Ward: In addition to his responsibilities as a Youth Pastor in the Northern California Conference, Scott has joined the NAD Youth Department as the Public High School Campus ministry Coordinator.
Paulet Howard: He will be filling the position of Pathfinder Coordinator for the Lake Region Conference.
Richard Williams: After serving as the Youth Director for the Maritime Conference, Richard will be transitioning to the position of Education Superintendent for the Manitoba-Saskatchewan Conference.
Ryan Simpson: Appointed as the Southern New Enlgand Conference's new Associate Youth Director, Ryan will be leaving his position as Youth Director for the Bermuda Conference.

SOULS IN TRANSITION (PART 2)
The National Survey of Youth and Religion (NSYR) surveyed 2,458 "emerging" adults (18-23 years old) in the third wave of their research (2008) and interviewed 230 of them. Christian Smith's book, Souls in Transition, is filled with vital facts from this survey - some of them reported in the previous 411 Newsletter*.
