Dear Business Partner,

The share of solar power generated in the energy mix has increased considerably in recent years – and this trend will continue. In 2013 solar power accounted for 4.5 percent of the energy produced, which is the equivalent of some 28.3 billion kilowatt-hours. And this poses a major challenge in terms of grid integration.

Therefore, extremely precise planning is required for grid management as well as the marketing and trading of electricity. This is possible with exact solar power forecasts for up to seven days in advance from meteocontrol. Find out more about this and other meteocontrol advancements in this newsletter:

Expansion of the VCOM analysis: selectable GTBs and meteo-data

Two new categories have been added to the VCOM analysis:

  • SCB: Measured values from the string combiner boxes
  • meteo: Measured values from the digital weather sensors

This expansion of the categories for analog and digital values (ad) as well as inverter data (iv) supports evaluations that are much more comprehensive.

Operations overview: adjustment of the time period

By selecting "Last Month" in the operations overview tab, the system now delivers the measured data for the most recent calendar month.

For example, if the operations overview for the last month is selected during April, the system delivers the parameters for the complete month of March. This data can be exported as a csv file. In the past, the measured values of the last 30 days – starting from the current date – were selectable.By selecting "Last Month" in the operations overview tab, the system now delivers the measured data for the most recent calendar month.
