Our certificants are the lifeblood of our organization and we value every one of you. We work diligently to provide valuable services, not just one week a year, but all year long. Here is just one of many ways the NBSTSA supports the Surg Tech Community: “On July 12, 2019, the South Carolina State Assembly attended the South Carolina Student Bowl in Pendleton, SC at Tri-County Technical College. 9 schools were in attendance out of our 12 programs and that was pretty awesome. The donation of the bags, provided by NBSTSA, allowed us to engage and speak with over 100 surgical tech students in which otherwise, we probably would never have had the means to do so. The excitement and energy that filled the room in answering certification questions before time-lapse, was phenomenal. We left our mark, by encouraging them to attend their first assembly workshop in the Fall, along with their instructors and receive their first set of CEU’S FOR FREE. South Carolina is doing big things and we could not have done it without the support for knowledge and certification by the NBSTSA.” SpotlightScott Gallagher, MD, FACSAfter medical school at Ohio State and residency training at USF Health, Dr. Gallagher completed the Advanced GI & Bariatric Surgery Research Fellowship as well as Fellowship training in Endocrine Surgery.
