“Boo!”

I have a few surprise treats for you this Halloween!  Behold, my bubbling cauldron of goodies is overflowing, ready to ladle out the hot stuff!

Series 2 of Olly’s Ale Trails begins next Monday 6th November 9.30pm on Travel Channel UK. I’m back surfing the USA’s beer frontier, kicking off the series exploring craft beer and travel hotspots in Colorado. Look out for the world’s most handsome man. Clue: it’s not me. Remember to set Sky to 'series link' ... the rest of the series takes me to Texas, Arizona, Oregon and San Diego.

My brand new LIVE Show! Join me for The 12 Wines of Christmas at Crazy Coqs at Zedel in London on 9th December. Majestic are kindly providing lashings of wine and I’ll be giving away 12 bottles from their Christmas Case live on stage along with tales of how I went from writing Pingu to pouring the vino on Saturday Kitchen, why I wanted to be Roger Moore when I grew up and how you too can become a wine expert in a single sip. For the inside track on the best Christmas wines and the truth behind the tellybox, book your tickets here.

Eat and Drink Festival! The festive spirit - known by some as ‘The Force’ - is with me at my tastings at Ideal Home Show’s Eat and Drink Festival in Manchester and London! I’ll be pouring top tipples in Manchester on 9th & 10th November and London 23rd and 24th November along with a host of gift ideas and stocking-fillers. Have a look at the website for full details.

On 18th November, I will fly on my imaginary reindeer direct from Saturday Kitchen Live to bring you Three Wine Men in Cambridge for the very first time!  Its’ going to be a belter of a tasting with a few hundred bottles for you to sip through alongside Oz Clarke, Tim Atkin and my imaginary reindeer who I‘m going to call Pourer. See you Saturday 18th November if you’re Cambridge crazy.

I’ve also been recording new episodes of A Glass With.  There are two bonus podcast episodes released into the wild recently with Jay Rayner and the inimitable Miriam Margolyes. Join us here.

If this isn’t enough to be getting on with, I will be back on BBC Radio 2 at 8pm on Boxing Day with my two hour tribute to my late friend and hero Sir Roger Moore.  It has been an extraordinary experience recording memories with some of his greatest friends, film stars and family alike. Expect great music, happy memories and a tear or two.

And finally, my warm thanks to the legends at Corney & Barrow for providing an enchanting selection of wines and to Quinta do Noval for the Port to pair with this year’s Bonkers to Brighton event for Children In Need. The mindblowing lunch devised and cooked by Tom Kerridge and his team for another amazing charity event is thrown by Chris Evans with all money raised for Children in Need. Thank you, Corney & Barrow.

Finally we need some wine to wash all this down! A couple of absolute beauties for you from the recent Majestic tasting, stock up fast before they go:

WHITE: Ormarine Élevé sur Lies Fines Excellence Cuvée Artemia 2016 (12%) from £8.99. This French white is so fresh it feels like the power of an extra strong mint harnessed to a citrus grove.

RED: Herdade de Gambia, Peninsula De Setubal 2016 (13.5%) from £7.99. I’m planning to recommend the living daylights out of this wine over the coming weeks so dive in quick. Bold flavours, proper structure, this is prime Portuguese red and serious quality for the cash. Deploy it with your next roast and don’t hang about bagging your stash.

Cheers all, more news to come on my brand new Glass House Wine lists and menus for P&O Cruises which will launch when I’m on board Ventura in a fortnight.

As they say in the States, thanks for joining us folks and we’ll see you next time!
