New York Mets Recognize CPC with
Community Hero Award The New York Mets recognized CPC with a Community Hero Award at a game on May 11th at Citi Field. We were excited to celebrate and receive the award presented by Council Member Peter Koo at home plate. Our essential workers and community members were recognized for their support, resilience, and dedication during these times.

CPC Brooklyn Community Services and CaringKind Co-host COVID-19 Vaccine Info Session On May 4th, CPC Brooklyn Community Services and CaringKind co-hosted a virtual informational workshop on COVID-19 vaccines. As the vaccine becomes available to all ages 16+ and more community members become vaccinated, questions remain regarding the efficacy of the vaccines and what community members should expect after being fully vaccinated.
Our Community, Our Stories - CPC Mentors Future Leadership: Jimmy ChenIn celebration of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, CPC launched the “Our Community, Our Stories” campaign to share the personal stories of different community members directly impacted by CPC. Our third community story features Jimmy Chen. Jimmy is a young entrepreneur and real estate developer, who despite his youth, is already committed to giving back to his community.

CPC Leadership Council and FeedForward Provide Groceries to Seniors at Hong Ning Housing The residents at Hong Ning Housing received 160 culturally appropriate grocery boxes each Friday between the weeks of April 16 – 23. The deliveries were distributed by Feed Forward, the Chinatown Strong Initiative, and the CPC Leadership Council, and were made possible by the generosity of Yao King (Founder and CIO of YK Asset Management).
CPC Partners with Helen Keller International to Provide Free Vision Screenings CPC is partnering with Helen Keller International to provide vision screenings to hundreds of children in our early childhood centers and after school programs. More than 70 children received free glasses. Thank you to Helen Keller International for providing access to vision screenings.

CPC, in partnership with the Gotham Organization, on May 25th held a ceremony to celebrate the groundbreaking of our mixed-used development in the Lower East Side. It will generate 208 permanently affordable residences inclusive of 115 residences dedicated to senior affordable housing,
a new headquarters for the CPC Manhattan Community Center, and a renovated Beth Hamedrash Hagedol Synagogue.
CPC Receives $2,500 from MassMutual in Support of CPC's Community Safety and Belonging Initiative Thank you to MassMutual for their generous donation for CPC's Community Safety and Belonging Initiative to #StopAsianHate. Funds will help address health, economic and safety issues brought on from the pandemic and rise in anti-Asian hate. The goal is to ensure that Asian American New Yorkers feel safe, respected, and included in their neighborhoods and across NYC.
Our Community, Our Stories - CPC Builds Supportive Foundations: Karen Li Our fourth “Our Community, Our Stories” profile features Karen Li. Karen Li is a high-energy alumna who is now studying Ethnicity, Race and Migration at Yale. For her, the future has many possibilities. Li has a strong interest in social justice efforts and is considering going into grassroots organizing and/or nonprofit management.
Brooklyn Partners Stand Together for 'Hate Has No Home Here' Event On May 25th, CPC Brooklyn Community Services partnered with Met Council on a food distribution to address food insecurity and to push back against, hate, bigotry, and discrimination against the AAPI community.

CPC Joins Panel in UNH Leading for Impact Professional Development Program On May 7th, CPC participated on a panel for the United Neighborhood Houses (UNH) Leading for Impact Professional Development Program. CPC Chief Strategy Officer Brian Chen served as the moderator for a discussion on Leadership Agility and Adaptability, which included Executive Directors from partner organizations BronxWorks, Center for Family Life, East Side House Settlement, and WHEDco. CPC Health Education Supervisor Tommy Lee is also a participant in the leadership development program.
CPC Speaks at Association for a Better New York's AAPI Heritage Month Event On May 19th, CPC President and CEO Wayne Ho was a speaker on an esteemed panel in recognition of Asian American & Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month hosted by the Association for a Better New York (ABNY). The panel focused on the AAPI community’s contributions to our city, impactful AAPI organizations, and challenges that have arisen with the surge in AAPI hate crimes.

Many of our services are available via virtual/remote access. We will be providing one-on-one career counseling, resume reviewing, searching and applying for jobs, and more.
